Artistic/Literary Internship
Participate as part of the Hippodrome State Theatre's Artistic Team by supporting and working with the Resident Dramaturg.
NOTE: THIS IS A FULL SEASON INTERNSHIP ONLY (NO SUMMER INTERNSHIP AVAILABLE).
Essential Job Functions:
- Work directly with the Dramaturg on research for upcoming productions
- Assist with script research and acquisition
- Assist in all tasks relating to One City One Story
- Assist in all tasks relating to Senior Playwright Festival
- Assist both the Dramaturg and the Artistic Director on setting up auditions and other administrative duties relating to the artistic department
- Assist in any and all Artistic/Literary responsibilities outside of those listed above to be determined by the Artistic Director and/or Dramaturg
Job Skill Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and other commonly used PC programs
- Ability to conduct research
- Writing Sample is required
- Flexibility, positive attitude, and a willingness to commit to long hours, hard work, and a demanding schedule
- Ability to think on feet and step into unfamiliar roles
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high energy artistic environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with different personality types
- Self motivated
